Something I thought up. You know when you're fighting someone, and at one point, you both keep trying to hit each other at the same time, and you keep doing it til someone pulls off a combo? I was thinking, that hitting each other so much isnt necessary.
Every time you and your opponent punch/kick/sword/cannon each other (Staffs/rods in the future)...
you're both clashing together. For example, lets say you both punch each other. Then, your fists are pressed against each other and a bar appears under the both of you with a dot in it. You need to keep tapping the button used to hit (X for punch, C for kick, etc) and whoever button smashes it the fastest and gets the dot to the opponents end of the bar, finishes the clash of fists and punches through the fist, doing about 250-300 damage.
Seriously would make the game much more intense and interesting.
Punch vs Kick
Kick Vs Sword
Sword Vs Sword
Cannon vs Punch
So on. (Punch vs Sword sounds painful lol)
